One thing I absolutely adore about The Dirtbombs is that they are stupendously silly. One thing I wish they knew before they wrote this song is that Sherlock Holmes does not dance nor sing; the art of deduction was/is his thing.

I always associate this song to a very cheap and funny way of promoting things. I blame Jean-Paul Belmondo promoting Jean-Luc Godard’s older film, Breathless in the same scene this played in A Woman is a Woman.

My mother and I used to leave the house around midnight, blaring Whitney in the car. We would eat some french fries from your local fast food joint. While stuffing our faces with french fries, some of our horrible singing was muffled.
First, go grab some headphones. The best ones you’ve got. If the best ones you’ve got are these suckers (or something similar), you should really go buy new ones, but use the best you’ve got for right now.
Take a break from whatever you’re doing for 2 minutes and listen, but just listen to the whole thing, even if you have to multi-task.
